a forest-fed fog swept through the graveyard
like an impenetrable void, obscuring all dimensions
it was not the density that astounded me
but what lurked inside

what quickened my pace I cannot deny:
a feeling I have not know of fear
a frightening horror that appeared to be only mine
as the darkness was drawing near

hark! whispers of the dark
unseen mystagogue
ever haunting me
from the shadows in fog

a deafening silence approached from beyond the trees
as I felt the ground pulling at my feet
in this moment I saw them at the treeline
as oak roots dragged me down

dark spectres of the void
beckoned unto me
to leave this world behind
beyond the shadows in fog

helpless on an altar of earth I layed
a circle of death surrounded me
i trembled with every breath
every breath that may have been my last.
